---------------------------------------PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Business Representative Organisations (BROs) in the eficiary countries must be strengthened and become more efficient and effective in representing the interests of SMEs members in the process of decision making at national as well as at EU level. BROs role and tasks need to be improved in the beneficiary countries to boost the acquis communitaire adoption process and to provide ad hoc services to the members in improving strategies towards EU regulations adoption.

EU legislation implementation follows a global approach adopted by national BROs. As far as their role is directly linked to the dissemination, the adoption and promotion of these approaches, BROs activities can have immediate effects on SMEs competitiveness.

The project will have from one hand institution building impacts, on both BROs role at national and international levels in providing innovative services and from the other hand it will have concrete impacts introducing improvements for the adoption of the acquis communitaire in the fields of safety and environment certifications and in the related strategies for the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

These two main project objectives will be fulfilled performing specific activities and tasks providing technical assistance from the BROs of EU countries to the BROs in the beneficiaries countries, by a strict collaboration between the EU project experts and the partners- organisations.

The first phase of the project is characterised by the strengthening of the BROs role in the decision making process at international level, analysing the state of the art in the target areas and defining Guidelines for the individuation of action strategies for BROs. At the same time the networking between the project partners will be supported and improved by a common approach and through IC&T instruments.
